San Diego Wine Country Festival a success!

So we had this Wine Country Festival on August 6th, a purely San Diego Wine event,  local wineries all in one place, pouring their wines. We held it at the Bernardo Winery on a steamy August day with over a dozen wineries present, anticipating around 200 in attendance. What we got, was a crowd of over 500, eager to taste local wines, ignoring the heat, bonding, sipping, enjoying…  and ready to hear more about San Diego winemaking and the direction we’re headed. I think the only way is up. I look forward to next years festival and the exciting changes and growth to come in San Diego Wine Country!

San Diego Wine Tasting event August 6th!!

Join the SDCVA for the first Annual San Diego Wine Country Festival August 6th, 1-5 pm, at Bernardo Winery! Sample wines from over 20 of San Diego’s wineries under the olive trees while talking to the winemakers who produce them! Food for pairing will be available on site, everything from Crepes to artisan breads, cheese platters and barbeque!  Live music, raffle prizes, and great San Diego Wine!  The Bernardo Winery Village shops and tasting room will also be open during the event.

Welcome to San Diego Wine

This site is the new and improved official site of the San Diego Vintners Association, where you’ll find everything you didn’t know about San Diego Winemaking, past and present. There’s a long history of the grape in San Diego, dating back to the first planted vines in California, by the San Diego Mission Friars.
